Unconditional Love
Unconditional Love - Audio 10:40 min
Awareness
is peace. It's prior to, during and after all experience.
It's the constant underlying state—The Natural State. It's
the underlying essence of everything. If you can hear these
words then you are aware right now. In your daily
experience, you're always aware of something—whether it's
your daily activities, or it's a series of thoughts about
your career, your relationships, your finances. And you are
always present as awareness watching, noticing.
What we
want in life is peace, love, and the sense that everything
is okay, isn't it? Find out for yourself. Because if that's
what you want, it's already here. It's free. There are no
requirements. No requirements at all. You don't have to make
any money. You don't have to have any relationships. You
don't have to have a career. You need nothing! Absolutely
nothing. It's free! It's absolutely free. It's what you
are—awareness.
Just
notice, I am aware. Notice the awareness that you are—not
the concept of awareness. If you can hear anything, see
anything, feel anything—it's the awareness that's hearing,
seeing, and feeling. Awareness is timelessly present. It's
not yesterday, it's not tomorrow. It's always now. You don't
have to wait five minutes, nor can you go back in time five
minutes. It's this point of timeless, spaceless awareness
that's always seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling.
The
experience that arises in awareness is absolutely
irrelevant—it does not touch the peace. Whether I lose every
penny I have, or I win the lottery—I am untouched as
awareness. Because I am here watching, feeling, sensing.
This
awareness is absolutely free. It doesn't cost anything. You
don't have to invest time manipulating your relationships,
your career, or your finances. You don't have to do
anything! It's free. This is the resolution to all
psychological suffering. This awareness is what I am. So,
knowing what I am, what we are—we are the peace, the love,
the sense that everything is okay—this is what I am. This is
what we are.
All
psychological suffering revolves around this false image of
"me". The image we have of ourselves is not real. It's a
projection of our own mind. The image of "me" is created
along with a list of requirements to attain peace, love.
It's all a creation and projection of mind. There are no
requirements for peace and love—it's free.
The
person who I believed I was, is imaginary. The person around
which all of the stories of suffering revolve doesn't even
exist. It's a projection of mind. I am that which sees,
knows and witnesses—pure awareness. It's what you already
are. You can't attain this, you can't lose it. You can't
meditate yourself into it. You can't get out of it.
So, what
do you have to do? Just stop for a second and notice. Oh! I
already have everything I want! You mean I don't have to do
anything? No, no! In fact, your doing implies you are
missing something—it's a misconception, it's a belief in the
imaginary dream story of "me" who needs to do something to
attain love and peace. If I can get my life situation in
order, then I'll have the peace, the love, and the sense
that everything is okay. No! You don't have to do anything.
In fact, the struggling to attain is the problem. You are
running away from the peace that you are. This is
free—absolutely free. Nothing needs to be done. Nothing can
be done to live in peace, to live with a sense of love.
Nothing can be done. You can not do this. Because it's
already free. Just stop, and notice—I am aware. I am aware.
There's
no technique or practice required—I am just pointing to
this. The content of awareness is irrelevant. Nothing needs
to be attained or avoided. If you don't recognize the peace,
and if you think something is wrong with your life—just stop
for a moment and notice, I am aware. I am aware of this
situation, and notice the awareness, not the situation. The
peace and love are not in the situation. You can not get
peace from any person, you can't get it from your career,
your finances or your relationships. You can not get peace
out of any situation because there's no peace or love in the
situation. There's no peace for you in another person, or in
more money or a better career. It's not there.
Nothing
needs to be done—nothing. The only thing I can see to do is
notice your awareness. I am aware right now. Not aware of
the situation—whatever it is, but I am aware of this—myself,
awareness. So, it's awareness aware of awareness—noticing
your awareness. Right now you know you are aware because you
can hear these words. You're noticing the awareness. Because
you can hear these words you know you are aware. So, notice
the awareness. Not the words. The words are irrelevant. The
words are a pointer that point back to the awareness. So you
notice—I am aware, I am aware right now. And everything is
resolved. Your awareness is the peace. It is the love.
There are
times in our lives' when we get our relationships, our
career, our finances all in order. And we stop running on
the treadmill because we find our life situation acceptable.
When we stop running we notice this sense of peace, this
sense of love, the sense that everything is okay—not because
we attained anything! Peace and love have nothing to do with
attainment. Because we stopped running on the treadmill, the
peace is noticed. The love is noticed. And there's a sigh of
relief. But the peace and love have always been here. It's
always here. It's always free.
Any time
the appearance of a problem arises, I know it's my mind.
It's my own mind spinning in circles. And there's no need to
do anything with the spinning mind—not a thing. Just notice
that I am aware. Realizing this resolves all psychological
suffering because psychological suffering is based on a
separate "me"—an image of myself, and I realize the image is
not me. I am the awareness. So if the "me" I thought I was,
is merely an image in my mind, and it doesn't exist in
reality, then there's no one to suffer. There's just
awareness. And that's what I am—I am the awareness. I'm not
the imaginary character who has to run on the treadmill of
life. I am the awareness, which is the peace and the love we
are seeking. So you notice this—notice, I am aware right
now—that's it.
You are
seeking love, peace and the sense that everything is okay.
So you come back to this. I am aware right now. I am the
peace. I am the love. I am the sense that everything is
okay. It's what I am. It's what awareness is—unconditional
love.
