Mystery
Darren:
Do you get the sense that your awareness is the same as my
awareness?
Stephen:
It’s a mystery. I have no idea what’s happening here. This
is a ‘not knowing’. This is a mystery. These thoughts are
happening, these eyes are seeing. There was the belief that
I am seeing (me personally), I am looking out these eyes.
That belief drops and it’s seen to be a mystery. How is all
of this happening? See what I’m saying? So this is a mystery
here. It’s absolutely clueless.
This mystery is
seen here. When I look at you I recognize the same mystery
looking out your eyes. I have no idea what’s looking out of
your eyes, and I have no idea what’s looking out of my eyes.
It’s an absolute mystery how anything is happening. Before,
there was the absolute conviction that Darren is in there
and he’s controlling actions and behaviors. So if Darren
does anything bad to me, Darren is…
Darren:
Responsible.
Stephen:
Because there was a belief in a separate Stephen being here,
that belief gets projected onto others.
Darren:
Right.
Stephen:
You notice when it drops here [referring to oneself]
it immediately drops there—it’s no longer projected.
This mystery is here. We could say, now I’m projecting this
mystery onto you. But that’s all I know, this
mystery.
Darren:
That’s very good. If I know that who is controlling the show
here is not my mind, then I know that who is
controlling the show there can’t be anything else
except…
Stephen:
The same mystery.
Darren:
Yes.
Stephen:
So it’s a mystery.
Darren:
With you and me I can say this is my body, and that is your
body. But with this mystery there is no ‘my’ mystery and
‘your’ mystery—it’s just this
mystery.
